Kurz-Bio: Jannis Spengler is an actor, choreographer, director and teacher for acting and movement. Having graduatied from the State University of Music and Drama in Munich in 1998, he has worked as an actor at the Bayerisches Staatschauspiel (State Theater) afterwards. His credits as a freelance actor, choreographer and director include national and international theatre productions, movie- and television productions in Germany, Greece and Russia. He received the German Shortmovie Award (Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis) for Parlez moi d'amour (Director: Filipos Tsitos) in 1994, which was also nominated for the Oscar (Foreign short movie). In 2014 Jannis Spengler acted in the Oscar-awarded shortmovie Nocebo (Director: Lennart Ruff). He is a teacher for body movement and performance. He is 5th Dan Aikido (Honbu Dojo, Tokio, Japan). Since 2001 teaches Suzuki-Training at Hochschule für Musik und Theater "August Everding" München, "Otto Falckenberg Schule" München, Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" Berlin, Folkwang Hochschule Essen. In addition he holds international workshops, introducing modified Suzuki training, Japanese martial art and functional and structural physical work.
